Leading by Example
Leadership is all about taking control. It is the single most important skill that a leader must possess, along with other attributes like innovative thinking, drive commitment to values and a capacity to "lead by example".
The ideal way to motivate is to lead by example. A leader should posess the ability to understand individually and focus on their strengths. Delivering result is all about team effort - a leader can accomplish even goals that are seemingly implossible if he can get the individual members of his team to focus collectively on one goal. A leader should delegate work and give individuals the freedom to sharpen their skills on live projectts. Such experiences act as a catyalyst to transform individuals with average performance records to donfident achievers and leaders of tomorrow.
It is equally important art for leaders to be committed and generate commitment among their team members towards goal and offer challenges to the team so that they can perform difficult task. With business increasingly becoming global, a successful leader is the one who can make his team perform effectively across different business cultures.
A leader needs to ensure that all his subordinates get their due importance irrespective of the scale of their contribution to the overall task. This helps foster the spirit that is so necessary to bind the team together. It is also the leaders responsibility to keep his organisations culture alive. Last but not the least, the leader should ensure that the work culture facilitates growth of the team members and development results in the overall growth and prosperity of the organization.
Corporate Analysis
Environment analysis is the analysis of external factors, corporate analysis takes into account the internal factors. These together are known as SWOT(Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats) analysis. It is not merely enough to locate what opportunities and threats are offered by the environment, but equally important is the analysis of how the organization can take the advantages of these opportunities and overcome threats. Corporate analysis discloses strengths and weaknesses of the organization and points out the areas in which business can be undertaken.
Corporate analysis is performed by identifying the factors which are critical for the success of the present or future business of the organisation and then evaluating these factors whether they are contributing in a positive way or in a negative way. A positive contribution is a strength and a negative contribution is a weakness.

Establish a Vision
The ability to establish a vision or a tangible vision and energise subordinates towards achieving it are the two most critical attributes that a good leader must have. Once one determines where the organization is headed in a specified time frame, he should along with their team members move towards achieving that goal in a disciplind and purposeful manner.
While trying to achieve ones vision, mistakes are inevitable. The important thing as a leader is to be sure of the direction and move towards rapidly, cutting down on talk and enhancing action. Delay could put him or her out of the race forever. Too often, organizations fail because leaders tend to get stuck, analyse endlessly and seek a perfect answer. And it dosen't pay if one are too rigid. If one are dogmatic about a decision even after circumstances have changed, it is the perfect recepie for disaster. Sometimes, one have to go by institution, and be flexible enough to make a last minute adjustment if the situation demands.
When dealing with people, one should remember that the good of the company is more important than the perceived good of the employees.
Trying to get everyone to like one is a sign of mediocrity. Conversely, trying to please all the people all the time will surely upset the most productive people in the organization. As a leader therefore, one must take decisions that may not be popular, but are critical for his organization to thrive. At the same time, employees must have enough faith in him to approach him with their problems without fear of retribution.
Finally, a leader in modern corporate environment needs to be a role model for the orgaisation. In the words of Aristotle, "A true leader must endeavour to be what he desires to appear".
