The Varsity Week

Varsity week is a week in Dibrugarh University,
Which comes only once in a year;
All the departments join hands together,
And students enjoy with laughter and cheer.....

The preparation for varsity week begins before a month of its actual start,
Students are seen around playing in the mud and dirt.
While practicing sometimes someone might get hurt,
But this does not have the power to tear the students will apart.

The Varsity Week is inaugurated with the students parade,
Students stand for hours in the sun longing for shade;
This marks the beginning of varsity week and students are ready to invade,
This turns out to be a magical memory of mine which is never gonna fade..............

Some think of varsity week to be just a game,
Some think winning is a must to acquire name and fame.
While some think its time to go home and become lame and tame,
But I think, not participating in the varsity week is a matter of shame.

The main objective of varsity week is to make students learn and play,
Helps students to unleash their inner potential which I should never forget to say;
Gives students the life's overview in every possible way,
Which books can't give even after studying night and day.....

During the varsity week many activities takes place,
Laziness and dullness does not occupy a space,
Students have to work hard to keep up the pace,
Bring glory to the department by standing first in the race.

The varsity week holds events of sports and culture,
It also gives creative people a chance to showcase their talent in the fields of art and literature.
These co-curricular activities teaches us various kinds of life-skill,
Like teamwork, time-management, working under pressure and growing strong the power of will.....

During the varsity week, the bond of friendship among all grows strong,
Participation in various activities will make memories for lifelong......
Each and every student is assigned with their respective duty,
And it makes everyone understand and realize their responsibility.

At the end of the varsity week, someone will be awarded the best and the rising star,
But not to worry, because everybody learnt precious lessons of life to go far...
Now the same zeal and enthusiasm is to be applied in one's studies,
So that everybody can establish themselves in their lives as cool buddies.

Long after, we will all remember the varsity week,
When we were all young and our energy were at its highest peak;
Which played a crucial role in transforming into a strong person from the weak,
Long live Dibrugarh University and long live the Varsity Week!!!
